1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to Proxaeon Studios LLC. We are a small indie team focused on making great games, not harvesting your data. This policy explains the minimal technical information we must collect to run our studio, balance our games, and fix bugs when you play our games or visit our site.

3. THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT & WHY
We minimize the data we collect to only what is absolutely necessary to run our studio, fix bugs, and improve your gaming experience.
A. Website Data
-
If you choose to email us, join our newsletter, or apply for a playtest, we collect your name and email address so we can reply. If you accept our cookie banner, we also collect basic, anonymized analytics (like browser type and pages visited) to see how our site is performing.
B. Game Data (Engines & Platforms)
Our games are currently built on the Unity engine and sold via platforms like Steam. To help us balance gameplay and difficulty, we collect specific, anonymized gameplay analytics:
-
Unity Analytics Data: Unity automatically collects technical device identifiers (such as your IP address and hardware specifications) to help us identify hardware-specific crashes. Unity also collects gameplay events (e.g., cards played, run success rates, bosses defeated, and session lengths). This data is strictly used to balance the game's difficulty. Review Unity’s Privacy Policy for more details at: https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy.
-
Steam Platform Data: When you play our games via Steam, Valve Corporation shares certain platform-level data with us, including your playtime, unlocked achievements, and basic hardware profiles. We do not receive, collect, or process your payment details, billing address, or Steam login credentials. This is governed by the Steam Privacy Agreement, which you can read at: https://store.steampowered.com/privacy_agreement/.
C. Crash Reports
When the Game crashes, we may ask you to send, or the Game may automatically send, a crash report. These reports contain technical hardware data and a snapshot of what the game was doing when it broke. We use this data to squash bugs and maintain a historical record to ensure those bugs do not return in future updates. We routinely purge older, identifiable crash data once it is no longer relevant to active development.

4. YOUR RIGHTS & CONTROLS
Depending on where you live (such as the EU, UK, California, or Texas), you have specific legal rights regarding your personal information. We believe in treating all our players equally, so we extend these rights to everyone, regardless of geography.
-
Your Data Control: You have the right to know what personal data we have collected about you, request a copy of it, ask for corrections, or demand that we permanently delete it from our systems.
-
Our Promise: We will never penalize you, deny you service, or alter your game experience for exercising your privacy rights.
-
EU/UK Players: If you reside in the EU or UK, we only use your data when the law allows us to: either you gave us explicit permission (like accepting cookies), we need it to deliver the game to you via platforms like Steam, or we need it to run our studio and fix bugs.
-
In-Game Analytics: If you prefer that we do not collect gameplay analytics while you play, you can opt out at any time through the game's Settings menu.
-
Platform Privacy Settings: You can control what gameplay data is visible to the public or shared with developers by adjusting the privacy settings directly within your platform profile (such as your Steam account).
-
Promotional Emails: If you sign up for our mailing list, every promotional email we send will include a clear "Unsubscribe" link at the bottom.
-
How to Take Action: To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@proxaeon.com. We will verify your identity and process your request within the legally mandated timeframe (typically 30 to 45 days). If we cannot delete a specific piece of data (for example, keeping a record of your deletion request to prove we complied with the law), we will explain exactly why, and you will have the right to appeal that decision.

5. DO WE USE COOKIES?
Only if you let us. We use a consent tool on our website to manage cookies in compliance with international laws.
-
Your Choice: No analytics or marketing cookies will load on your device until you explicitly click "Accept" on our Site's banner.
-
Modifying Consent: You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the consent widget on our website.
-
Global Privacy Control (GPC): Our systems are configured to recognize and honor valid "Do Not Track" (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals automatically as a request to opt-out of data tracking.

6. DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA?
We absolutely do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data under these limited conditions:
-
Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors (such as website hosts, game engine providers, digital storefronts, and email services) strictly to operate our business and deliver our games to you. They are contractually bound to secure your data.
-
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your information if legally required to do so by a court order, or to defend the legal rights and safety of Proxaeon Studios, our players, or the public.
-
Business Transfers: In the event of a studio merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user information may be transferred as a business asset.
-
International Transfers: We are based in the United States. If you play our games or visit our website outside the US, your data is transferred here. We rely on the legally recognized compliance frameworks of our trusted platform partners (like Steam and Unity) to keep it safe globally.

7. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP IT?
As briefly as possible. We keep data only for as long as we need it to support our games and run our business:
-
Support Communications: Emails and messages are kept while your inquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterward to help with any follow-up questions, after which they are periodically deleted.
-
Crash Logs: We retain technical logs for historical bug tracking during active development and routinely purge older data once it is no longer useful.
-
Analytics: Gameplay and website analytics are aggregated and anonymized. We do not store raw, individualized tracking data indefinitely.
-
Legal & Tax Records: Necessary business records are securely kept for up to 7 years to comply with international tax and legal obligations.

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Our games and website are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain European jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor, please contact us immediately at contact@proxaeon.com so we can permanently delete it.

9. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
As our studio grows, we release new games, or privacy laws change, we may need to update this policy. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. If we make major changes to how we handle your data, we will do our best to provide a more prominent notice, such as an announcement on our website or community channels.
